Coonabarabran High School celebrates NAIDOC Week

On Friday 26  May our school NAIDOC celebrations commenced with the arrival of our local Aboriginal Elders and community members. Dhagaan Warrumbunglee Dancers welcomed everyone into the school hall. Acknowledgement to Country was performed by ear 8 LOTE students and the NAIDOC theme for 2021 was ‘Heal Country’. Country is inherent to the identity of Indigenous Australians. It is family, kin, law, lore, ceremony, traditions, and language being this way since the dawn of time. Our activities on the day consisted of Weaving, Lingo Bingo, Dance and League Tag. A special Thank You to Dylan Neville and Steve Watton for organising the Dancers and all our staff who helped make our day a successful one.
