On 3 June last term we were fortunate enough to hold our annual Shakespeare Festival. Our students were very keen to participate as the festival was cancelled last year due to lockdown. Years 9,10 and 11 Advanced had been preparing for most of Term 3 and were honing their skills for their final performance. Year 9 were studying and performing ‘Romeo and Juliet’, Year 10 were studying ‘Macbeth’ and Year 11 were studying ‘Twelfth Night’.
We assembled our judging panel which consisted of Mrs Kellie Nash who is a regular, Mrs Michelle Birrell, Dr Michael Armstrong and Ms Felicity Harley who is a newcomer to the school along with the festival. Ms Bell was the compere for the day which she has honed this to perfection over the years.
The Day went smoothly and at the end of the day the students were presented with their certificates of participation before the awards for specific categories began. The beautifully designed certificates were the work of our amazing Library assistant Mrs Philipa Danson.
